Back Yard Stuff - First Week of June 2010

A bloom on the "Butterfly Bush." No butterflies yet.
The whole bush. It's progressing nicely. Where are the butterflies? I've since added a Milkweed plant next to the bush. Also planted mint and dill. All supposed to attract butterflies. Waiting!!!!!
The first tomato plant I put in the garden. There is actually a tiny tomato on the top, however, you can't make it out in this picture. So far, it is growing.
A view of the garden in its' infancy. There are now five tomato plants. I picked up a couple of Ramapo tomato plants. They were developed by Rutger's Univ. to bring back the true taste of the "Jersey Tomato." A flavor which has been absent for many years. Wish me luck with these.
Sophia sunning herself in the back yard. The spot of dead grass is where she parks herself due to the fact that the yard is mostly clover so there are a lot of bees buzzing around. You should see her jump around when the fire flies come out. Funny!

Davey's Senior Pre Prom 6/4/10 - Another Model Candidate

Mr. Cooooool. Davey, if choices in life don't work out, try modeling. You've got the look!
Davey putting on Kait's corsage.
Kait putting on Davey's boutonniere.
What a beautiful couple. You both look scrumptious.
Kait and one of her friends. This pink dress was my very favorite of all of the gowns.
Davey was nothing but gracious as he posed for many, many pictures. Thanks Davey. Love Ya!
Now this is the ultimate pose. Davey and Mom, aka my daughter, Debbie. Great picture you guys.
Feel the love. Proud parents.
All the guys. Lots of pictures.
All of the girls, minus one, who was stuck at the hairdresser. She made it just in time to hop on the bus. When she arrived, all the kids got off of the bus to pose for pictures with her so she wouldn't be left out. I thought that was so sweet of them as they were on the bus and ready to roll when she arrived. I missed getting her picture 'cause I had to move my truck. When the couples posed for pictures, they put her date in the middle, turquoise vest so he wouldn't be left out of group photos. Sweeeeeeet!!!!!
The girls discussing dresses. Davey's date, Kait, is in the middle. My favorite pink dress on the left. All of the gowns were exquisite. I felt like I was in Hollywood.
Joan Muhs thought of this brilliant idea of having the girls pose showing the backs of their gowns. Genius!!!!! Thanks Joan.
Here's those dapper shoes again. Loved 'em last year, love them even more this year.
Debbie coaxed the boys into doing a toe point pose. They were very obliging. Way to go guys!
Close up of my favorite gown. Very Hollywood, I thought.
When I arrived, there were couples posing or, girls posing together or, parents and kids posing all over the yard. If you stood in the middle and turned in a circle, there was someone posing all around the yard. Deb and Dave's front yard was like a movie set with its beautiful landscaping and all of the beautiful couples. Awesome scene!!!!!
I was happy to get everyone in one shot. The drawback, they are far away. Such a colorful lineup. Gold was the dominant color so when the couples lined up someone suggested that they do gold, another color, then gold, etc. Worked well.
I thought I'd try a side angle to be different. They are like a very colorful train.
The inside of the "Party Bus." I almost didn't check it out but, when I saw lots of people looking in it, I decided to have a peek. Glad I did. I was thinking it was just some A-1 Limousine bus, plain inside. What a neat surprise.
The kids on the bus. Isn't Kait beautiful? She is also model material. Oh! Every person had a seat belt which I noticed when the bus was empty.
The kids are gone. The corsage and boutonniere boxes are left as a reminder that they were there. Now the parents can relax as their beautiful children are on their way to their "Senior Prom."

Searching for a Modeling Agent. Anyone?

Antonio does a lot of silly faces but, this is model material to me.
Anita also has model looks. She has many pictures that, to me, would make a great portfolio. If only.

More Memorial Day Weekend Pics - Sunday Day Pool - Night Fire Pit

Antonio being silly at the pool.
"The Pool" Antonio and a friend are in the water.
Stacy fumbling with the foot rest of the chair. We all had a good laugh over this thing. Looks like the fire is touching Stacy but, it isn't.
SLAINTE!!!!! I enjoy a glass or two of wine when I'm hanging by the pit. It's my retirement thing.....me and the pit! I love our back yard. I sit out there listening to and watching the birds. Get a little sun during the day. I'm living "the life."
Anita, so pretty!!!!!
We had a good fire going. That's the great wood we got from Greg with Russ' help.
Antonio having a good laugh. We get pretty silly around the fire pit. Great family time. There were lots of fire flies this night and the dog was bugging out. haha

Memorial Day Weekend 2010 - Busy, Busy, Busy - Pool opening, PU P-rade, More Pool Time, Fireworks, More Pool

This Japanese drum belongs down in the middle of the P-rade shots but, I accidentally deleted it from that spot so put it back in 'cause I wanted to display it. The size is unbelievable. Sound unbeatable. haha
One of Anita's first shots at the pool this Memorial Day weekend.
For those of you who know of Blubby from last year. This ball is destined to be Blubby II, 2010.
Antonio going for the gusto.
Beginning of the P-rade. Princeton Univ. reunion weekend coincided with Memorial Day Weekend this year. I love to attend the P-rade. I did not stick it out for the 3 1/2 hours however as folks were getting sloppy drunk and I decided we should leave when a can of beer splashed on me. Ewwww. Anyway, we were heading to the pool and picking up Stacy along the way after she got out of work.
The first Alumnus and the beginning of the Old Guard was from the class of 1925. Awesome!
I especially liked the outfits of this class. Every class has a Jacket or a complete suit that is worn from the year of graduation. Some are very interesting. It's fun to see them walking around Princeton.
This was my favorite performance of the parade. Japanese drummers and dancers. The huge drum being transported on a truck is shown above. Accidentally deleted it from this spot. They were awesome!!!!!
The Japanese dancers. So graceful.
Never saw these before. Looks like fun.
Even the dogs got into the spirit of the P-rade.
The highlight of the P-rade for Anita.....A VW bus. Yay!!!!! Anita is banking money so she can buy herself a VW bus when she gets her license.
This is a total party parade. The alcohol was everywhere. I heard that some of the old guys had to be rescued from the field, where the fireworks were held, as they were totally wasted. I believe they were found the next day. Ouch.
Flamingoes are a new theme around Princeton. I've read that you can order flamingoes to be delivered to people's lawns. I thought this was ingenious.
Letting Stacy know we are on the way home from the P-rade and heading to pick her up to go to the pool. It was hot. Whew!
More flamingoes!!!!! I posed too but, I thought Antonio did this best.
One of the cool trees on the way to the pool. Anita and Antonio actually posed in several of them.
Yayyyyyy. We finally get to cool off. Me and Anita. Water felt great.
Sun is bright but great for sunning oneself. The water was fiiiiiine!
Anita shading herself with the new Blubby.
I swear this boy should be a model. He's a natural. You're beautiful Antonio (in a handsome way.)
The first pool pose of the 2010 season. Cute!!!!!
Stacy showing off her cuteness.
A cool shot of the fireworks. It turns out if we don't use the flash, we get some awesome shots. The fireworks were on Saturday night, part of the Reunion Weekend events. We always attend these fireworks. The music this year was great. The fireworks were actually disappointing to the four of us. Don't know for sure what was off with them.
