Maureen/Cape May/Sunset Beach/Smithville Village 10/8/10

My Sister Maureen Arrives in NJ 10/7/10

Maureen arrived in NJ to attend her 50th High School Reunion. I picked her up at AC airport and we went into AC for a couple of nights stay compliments of Adrienne, my niece and Maureen's daughter. When we opened the drapes to our suite we were greeted with this sunset.

I love the balcony outside the bedroom at the suite. We stayed at this same hotel two years ago when Maureen came up for her birthday. I love to sit out there and watch the lights of AC at night.

These strange looking things were given to us at the Thai restaurant where we went for dinner. We didn't know what they were. We thought the waitress said they were soy. Then we decided they might be a pear from Vietnam. We brought them home and Anita said, "Oh those are used for eyeballs on halloween. Chefs use them. They're a fruit from Asia". Little missy watches cooking shows and has a wealth of information. Who knew. She's always telling us about food stuff.

Lucy the Elephant in Margate, NJ. This elephant used to be on the beach. I first saw it when I was 11 yrs. old when our family traveled to AC from MA. She's a National Historic Monument.

This porthole was in the restaurant across the street from Lucy where we went to use the Loo.

Lucy's tail with a bandaid. She is getting repaired.

The very tiny bathroom inside Lucy. She was once a summer house for a wealthy Phila. family.

Looking outside through a porthole in Lucy's side. Lucy was built by shipbuilders. This gives a view of their handy work.

Shots of me and Maureen on the top of Lucy.

Lucy on the water tower.

After touring the inside of Lucy we got a look at the contents of her stomach on our way down the spiral stairs.

Weird Closeup Shots of Charlotte (our resident spider) 10/1010

I took a closeup of Charlotte, near the carport, and the camera gave me this ghostlike shot in the tree which, is across the yard. It's like there's a spirit in the tree. Our camera oftentimes gives us strange and unusual shots that we could never reproduce in a million years.

This is the ghost of Charlotte who is alive by the way. Sadly, a bad storm wiped out Charlotte and her web. I miss watching her weave her intricate web.

Homemade Cake for the Cake Walk at Super Saturday at JWMS 9/30/10

Anita and her friend Alexis made this cake for the cake walk at Super Saturday Carnival at their school.

Anita post Bar Mitzvah Party 9/25/10 & Sopnia

Sophia in a yoga pose. Goofy dog.

Anita post Bar Mitzvah party. The hat and sunglasses are from the party. She looks so grown up.

Eating at 11PM 'cause she was so busy socializing at the party that she didn't eat.

Temporary tattoo: Peekachu

Every person who attended the party received a tee shirt designed by Ben, the Bar Mitzvah.

Longwood Gardens Continued 9/19/10 A Mix of Shots.

Accidentally deleted these from the previous post. Waterfall near the chimes tower.

Peppers. Aren't they pretty?

The Eye of Water. Never knew this was there. It's housed in a pagoda style building.

I was talking with this man and his wife and noticed that he had a sunflower on his shirt. He very willingly agreed to let me take a photo. I talked with many people at the sunflower field. This gentleman and his wife, from DE, are in a band. The wife is also a yoga instructor. We all agreed that next year we need to get ourselves to the field a week or more earlier. We all said we were going to mark our calendars for next year. Talked with folks about where we lived, sunflowers, bees, and stink bugs. Shared my ladder and had a very pleasant visit at the sunflower field.

We left the parking lot and I decided to drive around the perimeter of the sunflower field. At the end of the road there was this strange rabbit. I would have loved to keep driving and wandering as I am prone to do but, we had been walking all day and needed to head home.
